Freshman Jerrold Atwell (Montrose, Mich. / Montrose) competed at the Saginaw Valley State Classic on Friday.  Atwell was the top Division III thrower in the men's shot put.  He finished tenth with a toss of 12.98m.  That distance places him in ninth place on Alma's all-time indoor top-ten list for that event and is currently the fifth-best throw in the MIAA so far this season.
