Junior outfielder Tanner Hawkins (Adrian, Mich. / Tecumseh) assisted the Hornets to an opening weekend sweep over Principia, winning 17-0 and 7-5. Most notably, Hawkins averaged a slugging percentage of 2.200. Hawkins was on base all 6 times, and had four extra-base hits (three 2B's and one HR), one single, and one BB, to go with 6 total RBI's. To top of his dominant performance, Hawkins hit a 1.000 with a 1.000 on-base percentage and had a perfect fielding percentage.
