Junior Tanner Hawkins (Adrian, Mich. / Tecumseh) assisted the #21 Kalamazoo College baseball team to a 3-2 record over the week, including a three-game sweep of Albion College to open the MIAA season. In the series against Albion, Hawkins was 11-12 with four walks, reaching base 15 of 16 times. Hawkins had hits in all five games, with a peak of five hits in the team's second game against Albion. In the Hornet's first game against Albion, Hawkins was 3-4 with a double and a walk, scoring all four times he was on base. In game two of the series, Hawkins was 5-for-5 with two RBIs and four runs scored. In the final game of the series, Hawkins was 3-for-3 with a double and scored twice. Throughout all five games, Hawkins was at-bat 18 times with 13 hits and 11 runs. He averaged .722 while slugging a .889 and was perfect in the field.
