The Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association has announced the student-athletes selected as Athletes of the Week, for the week of competition ending on February 17, 2019.
The MIAA Athlete of the Week awards are nominated by coaches following one week of competition, and selected by a panel of MIAA Sports Information Directors, including the MIAA Director of Media Relations.
This week's winners are listed below with their respective achievements during last week's competition.
Jordan Harris, Adrian
Sophomore, Guard
Indianapolis, Ind.
Harris averaged 23.5 points, 3.5 rebounds, and 6.0 assists to help Adrian go 2-0 in their final week of MIAA play. Against Alma Feb. 13, Harris went 6-of-11 from three-point range on the way to a 24-point performance, adding three rebounds, four assists, and one steal in Adrian's 78-74 win. In the season finale for Adrian, Harris tallied 23 points, eight assists, four rebounds, and two steals in 38 minutes of play in the Bulldogs' 80-77 victory against Kalamazoo Feb. 16.
Rain Hinton, Albion

Fort Wayne, Ind.
Hinton aided Albion in a 2-0 week as the Britons secured the No. 3 seed in the upcoming 2019 MIAA Women's Basketball Tournament. Hinton averaged 20.5 points and 10.5 rebounds in two wins while shooting 65.4 percent (17-of-26) from the field. In Albion's 71-58 win over Saint Mary's Feb. 16, Hinton tallied 21 points, 11 rebounds, three steals, and one assist. Earlier in the week, Hinton had 20 points and 10 rebounds in 17 minutes of play against Kalamazoo Feb. 13.
Chase Sparling, Calvin

Novi, Mich.
Sparling went 12-of-13 in face offs to assist Calvin in their 8-2 season-opening win at Wabash Feb. 16. Sparling also added four ground balls and one caused turnover in the win.
Jack Radzville, Hope
Freshman, Attack
Howell, Mich.
Radzville and Hope started the season with a 14-13 win over NAIA Lawrence Tech Feb. 15. Radzville had a team-best three goals to go with two assists for five points in the freshman's collegiate debut.
Jenina Villabroza, Albion

Glendale, Calif.
Villabroza made 15 saves on 26 shots in Albion's 12-11 win over Carthage Feb. 16. Villabroza came up with a free position shot save late in the contest to help seal the win, while adding three ground balls and one caused turnover.
Abby Sheklow, Albion
Sophomore, Attack
La Crescenta, Calif.
Sheklow aided Albion in a 6-0 rally to end Albion's 12-11 win over Carthage Feb. 16, with two of her three goals and two of her three assists coming during the critical run. All of Sheklow's three goals and three assists came in the second half, where the Britons out-scored Carthage 8-4 for the season-opening win.
Mandi Hettinger, Saint Mary's
Freshman, Pitcher
Winamac, Ind.
Hettinger threw 3.0 innings in a close 3-2 setback to NAIA Concordia (Mich.) Feb. 15, scattering four hits with one earned run.
Kelsey Keilman, Saint Mary's

South Bend, Ind.
Keilman went 3-for-6 with two extra-base hits in Saint Mary's season-opening contests against NAIA foes Concordia (Mich.) and Madonna. Against Concordia, Keilman had a triple and one run scored in a close 3-2 setback. In the season-opener against Madonna, Keilman went 2-for-3 with a double, a stolen base, and one RBI in a 10-2 five-inning setback.
MIAA Men's Indoor Field Athlete of the Week
Jacob Smith, Olivet
Sophomore
Sumner, Mich.
Smith won the shot put at the Hillsdale Tune-Up, breaking the program record with a mark of 15.78m. Not only does Smith lead the MIAA with the distance, but ranks 25th in NCAA Division III.
Randy Fry, Adrian

Redford, Mich.
Fry tied the Adrian record in the 60m dash at the Hillsdale Tune-Up, finishing in 6.94 to win the event and move into a tie for 21st nationally. Fry also won the 200m dash, re-setting the record for that event with a time of 22.43, which is sixth-best in NCAA Division III.
Ariel Floyd, Olivet

Floyd broke the Olivet record in the weight throw at the Hillsdale Tune-Up, finishing third overall with a throw of 15.19m. That effort ranks first in the MIAA. Floyd also placed fifth in the shot put, reaching 10.97m.
Taylor Sinclair, Adrian

Olivet, Mich.
Sinclair moved into second in the MIAA for the 200m dash and fourth in the 60m dash after performances last week at the Hillsdale Tune-Up. Sinclair finished second in the 200m dash with a time of 26.43 to tie the Adrian record; Sinclair also finished sixth in the 60m dash, with a time of 8.20 in qualifying to set a personal best.
Joshua McGarry, Albion

McGarry went 2-0 with wins at No. 1 singles and No. 1 doubles in Albion's match against Greenville Feb. 16. McGarry started with an 8-3 win at No. 1 doubles and then was decisive in a 6-1, 6-1 win at No. 1 singles.

Jackson posted a 4-0 record in two Hope victories, going 2-0 at No. 2 doubles and 2-0 at No. 3 singles. Against No. 16 Case Western Reserve Feb. 16, Jackson battled to a 7-6, 3-6, 6-2 singles win to tie the match after an 8-4 win in doubles as Hope's lone two-time winner on the day. On Feb. 15 in Hope's 9-0 win over Oberlin, Jackson was part of an 8-5 doubles win before a 6-2, 6-3 singles win.
