MIAA Athletes of the Week - November 26, 2018
The Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association has announced the student-athletes selected as Athletes of the Week, for the week of competition ending on November 25, 2018. 
 
The MIAA Athlete of the Week awards are nominated by coaches following one week of competition, and selected by a panel of MIAA Sports Information Directors, including the MIAA Director of Media Relations.
 
This week's winners are listed below with their respective achievements during last week's competition. 

Derrick DeVries, Calvin
Junior, Wing
Grand Rapids, Mich.

DeVries was named the Grand Rapids Sports Hall of Fame Tournament Most Valuable Player in aiding Calvin to wins over Cornerstone Nov. 23 and Aquinas Nov. 24. In Calvin's 85-63 win over Aquinas, DeVries had a game high 25 points to go with a team-best six rebounds. Against Cornerstone, DeVries had team-highs of 14 points and 13 rebounds for his first double-double of the year and sixth of his career. DeVries also had 24 points and seven rebounds against Wheaton Nov. 20 in an 86-71 setback.

Madison Hill, Alma
Junior, Guard
Midland, Mich.

Hill was a key factor in Alma's 2-0 week, including the Scots' 58-56 come-from-behind win at Spring Arbor Nov. 24. In that game, Hill went 11-of-13 at the free throw line while adding six assists and three rebounds; five of those free throws came in the final quarter, where Alma out-scored Spring Arbor 12-8 to earn the win. Earlier in the week Hill scored a game-high 22 points, including 17 in the second half, in Alma's 69-54 win over Earlham Nov. 20. Hill added five rebounds and a steal in the win.
