Matt Andrus of Adrian earned Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Baseball Player of the Week honors on Monday for games through May 9.

Andrus, a senior from Troy, claimed position player accolades after leading the Adrian offense at the plate to help the Bulldogs secure the regular season conference title outright. He produced hits in all five conference games last week including a trio of multi-hit performances to total 10 on the week and produce a .500 average at the plate. Andrus also knocked in three RBI on three separate occasions last week and finished the week with 10. He popped his first home run of the season on Friday against fellow playoff team Hope to put Adrian ahead for good. Andrus drilled his second homer of the year a day later to finish the week with an .850 slugging percentage.
