Shelby Niedzwiecki of Alma earned Women’s Outdoor Track and Field Athlete of the Week honors from the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) on Tuesday for meets through March 27.

Niedzwiecki, a senior from Freeland, won field athlete honors after a pair recording of top-two finishes at the Dick Small Invitational hosted by Defiance last weekend. She won the triple jump title with a distance of 33-3 (10.13m). Niedzwiecki also placed second in the long jump with a leap of 16-7.25 (5.06m). On the track, she also ran the 200 meter dash and a leg of the 4x100m relay.
