Jessie Dowell of Trine earned Men’s Outdoor Track and Field Athlete of the Week honors from the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) on Tuesday for meets through April 3.

Dowell, a sophomore from Remington, Ind., collected field athlete honors by winning the javelin throw at the Hanover Invitational last weekend. His winning toss was measured at 152-03. The performance was Dowell's first win as a collegiate performer. Dowell’s victory came against a field of 33 competitors.
