Pair of MIAA Football Players Nominated for 2015 Allstate AFCA Good Works Team®

Two Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) quarterbacks are part of a record-breaking total of 197 nominees for the 2015 Allstate American Football Coaches Association Good Works Team®.

Hope College senior quarterback Rob Kish and Alma College junior quarterback Brent Luplow are each candidates to be one of 11 award recipients chosen from the NCAA Football Championship Subdivision, NCAA Divisions III and I, and the NAIA. There will be 11 more honorees from the NCAA Football Bowl Subdivision.

The 2015 Allstate AFCA Good Works Team® will be announced in September.

Kish, a Grosse Pointe Park, Mich., native, threw for 2,100 yards and 24 touchdowns in 10 games last season, including the last eight as a starter. Off the field, the 2015 co-captain spent his 2015 spring break in Annville, Ky., to assist Jackson County Ministries with cleanup and construction. Kish also served as a tutor to students at Holland Heights Elementary School during the school year.

Luplow, a Clare, Mich., native, saw time in four contests last fall for the Scots while completing 19 passes for 171 yards. An active member of the Alma community, he also traveled Parker Street Ministries in Lakeland, Fla., with Fellowship of Christian Athletes. Luplow also volunteered with Alma Public Schools, Special Olympics, Adopt-a-Family, Youth for Christ, Youth Sports Camps, and the Women's Aid Services of Gratiot County.

The Allstate AFCA Good Works Team® has recognized college football players from across the country who exemplify a superior commitment to community service and volunteerism for 24 years.

In order to meet the criteria set forth by Allstate and the AFCA, each player must be actively involved with a charitable organization or service group while maintaining a strong academic standing. From the nominees submitted by sports information directors across the nation on behalf of their schools, a special voting panel consisting of former Allstate AFCA Good Works Team® members and prominent college football media members will select the 2015 Good Works Team.

Once the final team members are announced in September, fans are encouraged to visit the Allstate AFCA Good Works Team® website on ESPN.com, featuring profiles and images of the players, for the opportunity to vote for the 2015 Allstate AFCA Good Works Team® Captain.
