Maicey Peterson of Albion and the Hope distance medley relay team anchored by Erin Herrmann earned Women’s Indoor Track and Field Athlete of the Week honors from the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) on Tuesday for meets through Feb. 7.

Peterson, a junior from Clarkston, claimed field athlete honors after placing third in the pole vault at Anderson Invitational last weekend. She cleared the bar at 9-6.25 for the third-place vault. On the track, Peterson established school record time of 9.69 seconds in the 60m hurdles to finish third overall.

Herrmann and her distance medley relay teammates earned track athlete honors after a first-place effort at the Hillsdale Wide Track Classic that ranks the team sixth nationally in NCAA Division III. The team of freshman Sarah Neumar, sophomore Rachel Satkiewicz, junior Rachael Webb and junior Erin Herrmann turned in a winning time of 12:20.01 to edge Indiana Tech at the finish line. The performance was the fastest in the event for the Flying Dutch in outdoor or indoor competition.
