Alma’s Arnold and Hope’s Pearson Tabbed Women’s Indoor Track Athletes of the Week

The Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) tabbed Kaitlyn Arnold of Alma and Jane Pearson of Hope the Women’s Indoor Track and Field Athletes of the Week on Tuesday for meets through Jan. 31.

Arnold, a junior from Jackson, won track athlete honors after recording a lifetime personal best time of 17:54.66 in the 5000 meter run. Her time placed her third overall at the Saginaw Valley State Invitational last weekend. She also ran the third leg for Alma’s 4x400m relay that finished 14th overall.

 

 

 

 

Pearson, a senior from Lake City, claimed field athlete honors by placing in three field events for Hope last weekend at the Grand Valley State University Mike Lints Open. She placed 10th in the high jump at 5-1 and 11th in the shot put at 38-2 on her second throw. Pearson also finished 18th in the long jump at 15-11.50. She also competed on the track in the 60m hurdles (9.70) and finished 13th.
