Albion’s Annorat and Meredith Sweep Men’s Indoor Track Athlete of the Week Honors

Richard Annorat and Justin Meredith of Albion earned Men’s Indoor Track and Field Athlete of the Week honors from the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) on Tuesday for meets through Feb. 7.

Annorat, a freshman from Naples, Fla., won field athlete honors after placing in a pair of jumps as well as a hurdle event at the Anderson Invitational last weekend. He won the triple jump on his last attempt as he sailed 42-5.5. Annorat took third in the high jump by clearing 6-2. He also finished as the runner-up in the 60m hurdles, crossing the line in 8.64 seconds.

 

 

 

Meredith, a senior from Detroit, claimed track athlete honors following a pair of second-place finishes in sprints at the Anderson Invitational last weekend. He finished second in the 60m dash, clocking in at 7.06. Meredith also placed second in the 200m dash with a time of 22.69. He also led off Albion’s 4x200m relay that turned in a winning time of 1:32.87.
