MIAA Schools Begin Fall Sports Seasons on Tuesday

MIAA Schools Begin Fall Sports Seasons on Tuesday

All nine Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) schools begin their 2015-16 sports schedules by competing in 16 events on Tuesday.

Two volleyball contests dot the schedule as well as 14 soccer matches, seven for the men and an equal number for the women. Action begins at 4 p.m. for sport doubleheaders hosted by Olivet and Adrian while Hope starts its doubleheader an hour later. Three other schools, Albion, Saint Mary’s and Trine, host single events while Alma, Calvin and Kalamazoo begin on the road.

Adrian has three fall teams in action tonight including volleyball as well as men’s and women’s soccer.

Football kicks off this week on Thursday when Trine hosts Manchester on Thursday night at 7:30 p.m. The other half dozen of gridiron games for week one are set for Saturday.
