Albion Volleyball Works on Collaboration Corner Clean Up

Though the season ended Oct. 31, the Albion volleyball team worked on a community service project at the Collaboration Corner Park prior to the holiday week.

"We cleaned up Collaboration Corner by filling the rain beds in with mulch, digging for a new landscaped bed, and filling in and evening out the existing landscape of the area," setter and team captain Ami Milligan said.

"Whitehouse Nature Center Director David Green organized the project by contacting Pam Schuler to recruit college student volunteers and the team took the opportunity. The Nature Center plans to plant the flowers and finish up the landscaping in the spring. It was a great opportunity for the team to get outside before the snow falls and clean up the Albion community."

Under the direction of Albion's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee, Briton teams are required to perform two community service projects during the school year. Albion student-athletes collectively logged 3,100 hours on community service projects last year.
