ADRIAN, Mich.-- The Bulldogs women's basketball team and Adrian College Special Olympics engaged in a holiday-themed game of kickball on Wednesday (Dec. 19) in the Merillat Sport and Fitness Center field house on the College campus.

Participants wore ugly Christmas sweaters and T-shirts fitting for a competitive atmosphere that featured a lot of runs (who's keeping score?), nice defensive plays and a lot of fun.

Kelly Higgins and Jessie Solis, a teacher assistant at Lenawee Intermediate School District and a vital part of the AC Special Olympics mission, coached the Special Olympians who are students in the LISD Adult Transition Student Services.

"It was a pleasure to be asked to participate in this kickball game event," said Adrian coach Kathy Morris, who is in her 27th season at the helm of the women's basketball Bulldogs. "Our team had so much fun with the kids, and we hope they did too. We are looking forward to teaming up again sometime soon."
