HUDSONVILLE, Mich. -- In the fall update of the 2023-24 Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Commissioner's Cup race, Hope College takes the early lead thanks to top-three finishes in all six fall sports.

The fall update is an unofficial look at the MIAA Commissioner's Cup standings.  The award is based on the cumulative performance of each member school in the league's 23 sports: eleven in women's sports and twelve in men's sports.  Each school counts its top eight finishes by gender.  The fall update includes each team's MIAA finish in three men's and three women's sports.

The Flying Dutch earned the outright MIAA Volleyball Championship, as well as the co-championship title in women's cross country.  Hope was the regular-season runner-up in men's cross country, football, and women's soccer on the way to garnering 48.5 points through six fall sports.

Calvin University is currently second in the running with 42.5 points thanks to MIAA titles in men's cross country, men's soccer, and women's soccer, as well as the co-championship title in women's cross country.  Trine claimed the third spot (37.5 points) after the fall season with top-three finishes in men's cross country, women's cross country, football, and men's soccer.

In the race for fourth place, Albion College (31 points) leads Kalamazoo College (29 points) with help from a second-place finish in volleyball.  The Hornets earned a spot in the top three in women's soccer.

Alma College (25 points) edged Adrian College (23 points) for sixth place following the fall season.  The University of Olivet (19 points) and Saint Mary's College (9.5 points from three women's fall sports) round out the nine institutions.
