Hope Wins Third-Straight MIAA Commissioner's Cup

HUDSONVILLE, Mich. -- In the final update of this year's Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Commissioner's Cup standings, Hope College claims the award for the 2022-23 academic year thanks to six outright regular-season championships and one co-championship.

Hope totaled 146.5 points to earn the program's 39th overall MIAA Commissioner's Cup.

Hope swept the All-Sport Championship titles with the men tallying 70 points and the women with 76.5 points.  On the men's side, the Flying Dutchmen won the MIAA Men's Golf Championship.  The women earned outright championship titles in cross country, swimming and diving, indoor track and field, lacrosse, and outdoor track and field, while sharing the basketball regular-season crown.  Hope finished in the top three for every sport that they sponsor except three.

Calvin and Trine rounded out the top three once again with 139 points and 126 points, respectively.  The Knights amassed six championship titles during the 2022-23 academic year, while Trine was the outright champion in three sports and shared the women's basketball crown.

The MIAA Commissioner’s Cup award is based on the cumulative performance of each member school in eighteen of the league's sports for men and women.
