MIAA Announces 2015-16 Academic Honor Roll

FREELAND, Mich. – The Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association announced Thursday (July 21) the list of 1,254 student-athletes from the conference’s nine member institutions recognized as 2015-16 Academic Honor Roll selections. The total surpasses the conference’s previous record of 1,169 honorees for the 2014-15 academic year.

“The achievements of the student-athletes that represent the MIAA continue to overwhelm me,” said Allen-Cook. “I am proud of the work our student-athletes put into being successful in their overall collegiate experiences.”

To be recognized, student-athletes must reach a 3.5 grade-point average for the academic year and earn a varsity letter in an MIAA-sponsored sport.

Hope College had an MIAA-high 230 representatives on the list, followed by Calvin College’s 169 honorees. Albion College (152) and Alma College (145) were third and fourth, respectively.

Of the 1,254 recognized, 94 student-athletes received accolades for four consecutive seasons.
