1,770 Student-Athletes Named to 2022-23 MIAA Academic Honor Roll

HUDSONVILLE, Mich. – On Tuesday, August 8, the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) announced the list of 1,770 student-athletes from the conference’s nine member institutions named to the 2022-23 MIAA Academic Honor Roll.  This marks the eighth-straight year that the total number of honorees surpassed 1,200 student-athletes.

To be recognized, student-athletes must reach a 3.5 grade-point average for the academic year and earn a varsity letter in an MIAA-sponsored sport.

Overall, Trine University had the highest number of Academic Honor Roll selections with 273, followed by Hope College with 265 and Calvin University with 219.  Albion College was fourth with 213 honorees, while Alma College rounded out the top five with 199.  To note, The University of Olivet's 176 honorees is the most in school history.

Along with academic success, MIAA student-athletes showed their strength in competition as 295 were multi-sport letterwinners, and 135 earned a varsity letter in three sports in 2022-23.
