1,558 MIAA Student-Athletes Announced to 2021-22 Academic Honor Roll

FREELAND, Mich. – On Wednesday, August 3, the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) announced the list of 1,566 student-athletes from the conference’s nine member institutions named to the 2021-22 MIAA Academic Honor Roll.  This marks the seventh-straight year that the total number of honorees surpassed 1,200 student-athletes.

To be recognized, student-athletes must reach a 3.5 grade-point average for the academic year and earn a varsity letter in an MIAA-sponsored sport.

Overall, Hope College had the highest number of Academic Honor Roll selections with 250, followed by Trine University with 235 and Albion College with 206.  Calvin University was fourth with 197, while Kalamazoo College rounded out the top five with 183.

Along with academic success, MIAA student-athletes showed their strength in competition as 241 were multi-sport letterwinners, and 98 earned a varsity letter in three sports in 2021-22.
