Among the highlights from the 2016 season:
- Calvin placed 19th nationally at the NCAA Division III National Championship. The top MIAA finisher at the national meet was Calvin's Jordan Kramer, who earned All-America honors. Andew Bill of Albion was next on the list for MIAA competitors, finishing 101st.
- Calvin won the MIAA Championship with a team score of 27, as the Knights' top five runners all finished in the top 10.
- Calvin also won the NCAA Regional with a team score of 63.
