Around the MIAA

Adrian

The Bulldogs participated in the Inter-Regional Rumble , hosted by Oberlin Oct. 19. Sophomore Sydney Feekings led the team with a time of 26:47.1 for a 127th place finish (of 240 runners).


Albion

The top four Albion College runners achieved personal best times as the women’s cross country team challenged the best teams in the region in northeast Ohio. Albion finished 20th in a field of 32 teams in the Inter-Regional Rumble. Jordan Revenaugh, the 18th runner to finish the 6K course, set a time of 22:10. She was followed by Megan McCulloch (23:01), Kenna Childress (23:24) and Samantha Beith (26:22). Adia Langeland, Albion’s No. 6 runner on the day, also achieved a personal best at 28:18.


Alma

The Scots competed in Oberlin, Ohio Saturday (Oct. 19). The women placed 31st out of 33 teams and were led by senior Aubrey Hemstreet with a time of 23:20.3.


Calvin

Calvin had a solid showing in a field of nationally-ranked teams at the KollegeTown Invitational hosted by the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh Oct. 19. The Knights posted a team score of 225 points, finishing only 22 points behind rival Hope. The Knights finished 18 points ahead of 27th-ranked Elmhurst which placed eighth. Third-ranked Washington University of St. Louis took first in the team standings with 27 points. Senior Michelle Koetje was the top finisher for Calvin, placing 20th individually with a time of 22:41 on the 6K course.


No. 17 Hope

Hope had a hugely successful run for the 17th-ranked Flying Dutch at the talent-loaded Wisconsin-Oshkosh KollegeTown invitational. Hope finished fifth out of 13 teams on Saturday at Lake Breeze Golf Club in Winneconne, Wisconsin. The Flying Dutch, who totaled 203 points, finished behind only teams ranked higher than them in the USTFCCCA poll. Freshman Ana Tucker (Midland, Mich.) crossed the finish line first for Hope by clocking a seventh-place run of 6K run of 22 minutes, 18.5 seconds. Senior Anna Frazee (Watervliet, Mich.) also finished in under 23 minutes, placing 50th at 22:49.2.


Kalamazoo

Olivet

Olivet competed in the open 6K race at the Inter-Regional Rumble, hosted by Oberlin College and placed 22nd. Sophomore Kaylee Richardson ran the Comets' fastest time at 25:39.9. The time was also a career-best for Richardson. Junior Morgan Greenman was next at 26:44.8. Freshman Savannah Baker finished in 27:47.9.


Saint Mary's

The Belles placed 19th in a talent-laden Oberlin Inter-Regional Rumble on Saturday. Twelve of the competing Saint Mary's runners posted new 6k personal record times at the event. Julia O'Grady's previous PR dropped by over a minute, as O'Grady led the Belles with a 22:53.6 to finish 44th overall. Katie Glenn also posted a new 6k PR with a 23:21.6 while finishing 88th.


Trine

Finished 17th of 32 teams...the Thunder were led by junior Evie Bultemeyer who had the top overall time out of 283 total competitors of 21:01.9 in the 6k course and finished almost nine seconds ahead of second place. Bultemeyer's time also improved upon a school record mark that the junior set earlier this season (21:29.0) at the Calvin Invitational.
