
Trine junior Evie Bultemeyer was the individual champion at the Great Lakes Regional in Grand Rapids, Mich., Nov. 16 and will compete at the 2019 NCAA Division III Women's Cross Country Championship Nov. 23 in Louisville, Ky.
Bultemeyer is the first Trine runner to win a Regional meet and is the fifth MIAA women's cross country competitor in seven seasons to be the Great Lakes Regional champion. Bultemeyer finished the race in 20:58.4 to win by 12 seconds.
Joining Bultemeyer at the national championship are Hope and Calvin, who received at-large berths for the second consecutive year after finishing fourth and sixth, respectively, at the Great Lakes Regional. Hope was led by Ana Tucker's fifth-place finish (21:24.4) in the 233-competitor field; pacing Calvin was Michelle Koetje, who finished 23rd in 22:07.0.
