
With the MIAA Women's Cross Country Championship race just two weeks away, many teams are gearing up for the final push of the fall season. Highlights from the weekend include:
• At the UW-Oshkosh Kollege Town Sports Invitational Saturday, Hope's Erin Herrmann (Sr., Wheaton, Ill.) was the winner in the 36-team event, treking the 6K course in 21:22.48 to win by four seconds. Calvin's Lauren Strohbehn (Sr., Stillwater, Minn.) and Johanna Admiraal (Fr., Cincinnati, Ohio) finished fourth and fifth, respectively, to lift the Knights to a second-place finish; Strohbehn finished in 21:43.97, while Admiraal crossed in 21:44.28.. Albion's Jessica Shaw (Sr., Allegan, Mich.) just missed a top-10 finish against a field of teams ranked both regionally and nationally, crossing in 22:02.38 for 12th overall.
• For the second consecutive weekend, Alma's Kaitlyn Arnold (Sr., Jackson, Mich.) was victorious for the Scots, as the senior took first place in the 255-person Oberlin College Inter-Regional Rumble Saturday. Arnold clocked a time of 21:05.4 for the 6K race, winning by 14 seconds and leading Alma to a 10th-place finish in the 29-team field. Saint Mary's Brittany Beeler (Sr., Spring Lake, Mich.) placed ninth with a time of 22:09.3.
