Among the highlights from the 2016 season:
- Calvin finished ninth nationally and Hope 10th overall at the NCAA Division III National Championship, making the MIAA one of just two conferences to have two teams finish in the top 10. Hope's Erin Herrmann finished fourth nationally, while Albion's Jessica Shaw earned All-America honors with a 30th place finish.
- Hope won the MIAA Championship with a team score of 33, with all five scorers finishing in the top 10 overall.
- Calvin and Hope finished 1-2 at the NCAA Regional while Hope's Herrmann and Albion's Shaw finished first and third, respectively.
