
HUDSONVILLE, Mich. -- On May 7, 2024, the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) announced the student-athletes that earned All-MIAA status following the 2024 MIAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships.
Albion College senior Avery Campbell was selected as the 2024 MIAA Most Valuable Women's Track Athlete following her performances at the championship meet. Campbell Set two new league records at the meet with a time of 11.77 in the 100m and a time of 24.09 in the 200m dash. Campbell also competed in the third-team 4x100m relay that clocked in at 48.84.
Senior Jake Gladieux of Trine University was voted the 2024 MIAA Most Valuable Men's Track Athlete after assisting the Thunder to the championship title. Gladieux broke both conference records in the hurdle events. He concluded the 110m hurdles in 14.23 and clocked in at 52.10 in the 400m hurdles. Gladieux also competed in the third-place 4x100m relay which finished in a time of 41.83 and the third-place 4x400m relay that clocked in at 3:18.86.
Senior Tess Anthony of Albion was named the 2024 MIAA Most Valuable Women's Field Athlete. Anthony notched a victory in the hammer throw with a toss of 45.00m. She also concluded the shot put in third place with a throw of 11.89m and the discus throw in sixth place with a mark of 33.82m.
Albion senior Armund Gordon Jr. was once again deemed the MIAA Most Valuable Men's Field Athlete. Gordon Jr. took home a first-place medal in both the triple jump (13.79m) and the long jump (6.75m). He also competed in the MIAA record-breaking 4x100m relay that finished with a time of 41.35. Additionally, Gordon Jr. landed the 200m dash in seventh place after clocking in at 22.43.
