MIAA Student-Athletes Garner Twelve All-American Accolades Following Performances at 2024 NCAA DIII Outdoor Track & Field Championships

ROCHESTER, N.Y. -- Student-athletes from the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) totaled twelve All-America awards following the 2024 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championships, including eight First Team honorees and four Second Team selections.

The student-athletes receiving a spot on the All-America First Team include Albion College senior Avery Campbell, sophomore Sophie Bull of Calvin University, Hope College sophomore Sara Schermerhorn and senior teammate Rebecca Markham, senior Jordon Brown from The University of Olivet, and Trine University senior Jake Gladieux.

Campbell earned First Team All-America status in two events -- the 100m dash and the 200m dash.  She concluded the 100m dash in fifth place with a time of 12.08, while finishing the 200m dash in seventh place (24.85).

Bull became a First Team All-American in the 3,000m steeplechase with her fifth-place finish after clocking in at 10:31.82.

Both Markham and Schermerhorn represent Hope on the First Team.  Schermerhorn finished the 400m dash in fifth place (55.19) and Markham concluded the 10,000m run in seventh place (35:57.75).  Both Flying Dutch are also on the All-America Second Team.  Schermerhorn place fourteenth in the 200m dash with a time of 24.36, while Markham landed the 5,000m run in sixteenth place (17:27.11).

Brown completed the 400m dash in eighth place to receive First Team honors with a time of 47.51.

A sixth-place finish and a time of 14.22 in the 110m hurdles earned Gladieux a spot on the All-America First Team.  He also received a First Team nod in the 400m hurdles.

The additional student-athletes receiving Second Team accolades include senior Jenna Allman of Calvin and Hope junior Connor Vachon.

Allman earned a fifteenth-place finish in the steeplechase (10:50.64), while Vachon concluded the 1,500m run in thirteenth place (3:54.70).
