
HUDSONVILLE, Mich. -- On May 9, 2023, the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) announced the student-athletes that earned All-MIAA status following the 2023 MIAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships.
Olivet College senior Jordon Brown was selected as the 2023 MIAA Most Valuable Men's Track Athlete following his performances at the championship meet. Brown set a new MIAA record in the 400m run after clocking in at 47.30. Brown also notched a victory in the 200m dash with a time of 21.51. He was the runner-up in the long jump (7.01m) and competed in the fourth-place 4x400m relay (3:22.67) and in the sixth-place 4x100m relay (42.86).
Senior Ana Tucker of Hope College was voted the 2023 MIAA Most Valuable Women's Track Athlete after assisting the Flying Dutch to the championship title. Tucker opened the competition with a victory in the 10,000m run with a time about 42 seconds faster than the runner-up (37:29.26). She then won the 5000m run with a time of 17:46.10.
Junior Armund Gordon, Jr. of Albion College was named the 2023 MIAA Most Valuable Men's Field Athlete. Gordon Jr. won an individual title in the triple jump with a performance of 13.63m. He also competed as part of the winning 4x100m relay which finished in 41.86. Gordon Jr. finished third in both the high jump (1.83m) and the long jump (6.78m).
Calvin University freshman RyAnn Rohrer was deemed the 2023 MIAA Most Valuable Women's Field Athlete. Rohrer opened the competition with a victory in the shot put (13.30m). She also finished second in the discus with a personal-best throw of 40.92m and competed in the hammer throw (34.80m).
