
FREELAND, Mich. -- On May 9, 2022, the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) announced the student-athletes that earned All-MIAA status following the 2022 MIAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships.
Sophomore Avery Campbell of Albion was voted the 2022 MIAA Most Valuable Women's Track Athlete following her performances at the MIAA Championships. Campbell notched individual victories in both the 100m dash (12.49) and the 200m dash. She also anchored the Brits in their first-place relays for both the 4x100m (49.31) and the 4x400m (4:03.65).
Adrian senior Derek Plitt was selected as the 2022 MIAA Most Valuable Men's Track Athlete after the conference meet. Plitt earned first-place finishes in both the 100m dash (10.74) and the 200m dash (21.58). He also anchored the Bulldogs' third-place 4x100m relay which concluded with a time of 42.73.
Albion senior Anna Albaugh received the title of the 2022 MIAA Most Valuable Women's Field Athlete. She claimed the top spot in both the javelin (33.87m) and the discus throw (38.68m). Albaugh also finished as the runner up in the hammer throw of 49.98m and 11th in the shot put (10.56m).
Senior Trevor Knowles of Albion was named the 2022 MIAA Most Valuable Men's Field Athlete following the MIAA Championships. Knowles notched victories in both the triple jump (13.56m) and the long jump (7.04m). He also finished fourth in the high jump with a leap of 1.83m and assisted the Brits to a fourth-place finish in the 4x100m relay (43.01).
