11 MIAA Student-Athletes Qualify for NCAA Women's Track and Field Championship

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. -- On Friday, the NCAA announced the qualifiers for the 2021 NCAA Division III Women's Outdoor Track & Field Championships, slated for May 27-29 at the Irwin Belk Track in Greensboro, North Carolina.

Four MIAA programs will send at least one student-athlete to the national event, with Calvin leading with four individuals, followed by Adrian and Hope with three.  One athlete from Adrian will represent the Bulldogs.

Four runners from the MIAA will be competing in the 1500m, including Trine's Evie Bultemeyer, Calvin's Sadie Heeringa, and Hope's Jacinda Cole and Hannah Kenny.  Annie Needs of Calvin, Elizabeth Lohman of Trine, and Hope's Kenny will all participate in the 3000m steeplechase.  Competing in the javelin are Adrian's Britney Carnagie and Calvin's Kamryn Elgersma.  Other qualifiers include Calvin's Delaney Sall, Hope's Ana Tucker, and Trine's Valerie Obear.

For each women’s individual event contested, including the heptathlon, the top 19 declared student-athletes were accepted into the competition. For each relay event contested, the top 14 declared relay teams, one per institution, were accepted into the competition.
