BIRMINGHAM, Ala. -- Ten student-athletes and one relay from the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) competed at the 2023 NCAA Division III Men’s and Women’s Indoor Track and Field Championships March 10-11 at the Birmingham CrossPlex in Birmingham, Alabama.
Hope College senior Ana Tucker finished the mile as the national runner-up with a time of 4:47.03. In the 3000m run, Tucker placed fourth (9:32.53) and Calvin University junior Jenna Allman finished 19th (10:04.14).
As the sixth seed, Trine University senior Jake Gladieux earned a third-place finish in the 60m hurdles with a personal-best time of 8.01.
Adrian College freshman Theo Shepherd wrapped up his first year with a fourth-place finish in the high jump (2.03m).
Hope's women's distance medley relay finished the event in ninth place with a time of 11:52.31. The quartet included senior Ellie Jankowski, classmate Grace Behrens, freshman Madison Stern, and Tucker.
Adrian junior Cailey Beaudoin's leap of 1.61m earned her an 11th-place finish in the high jump.
Calvin senior Brandan Knepper finished the 5000m run in 12th place after clocking in at 14:29.22.
Senior Mason Darden of Albion College completed the weight throw in 13th place with a toss of 18.17m.
Olivet College senior Jordon Brown competed in both the 200m dash and the 400m dash. Brown tied-for-16th in the 200m dash (21.96) and finished the 400m dash with a time of 49.53.
Senior Flying Dutchman Eli Meder concluded the 800m run in 16th place after clocking in at 1:54.76.
Hope's Sara Schermerhorn finished the 200m dash in a time of 25.20.
