A pair of Hope College women's lacrosse standouts made history together.

Senior goalkeeper Maddie Yakes and sophomore attacker Julia Brown became the first Flying Dutch teammates to receive all-region recognition within the same season.

Brown (Grand Rapids, Michigan / Forest Hills Central HS) is among 16 first-team selections in the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association Great Lakes Region.

Yakes (Rockford, Michigan / Rockford) is among 16 second-team recipients.

Both led Hope to a 13-5 overall record this season and a second consecutive sweep of MIAA regular-season and tournament titles. The Flying Dutch made their second appearance in the NCAA Division III Tournament.

Brown, the 2024 MIAA's Most Valuable Player, set Hope single-season records with 65 goals and 85 points.

The sociology major earned her second IWLCA all-region accolade. Brown became the first in program history to claim the award as a freshman.

Yakes backstopped the MIAA's leading defense with an 11.23 goals-against average and a .435 save percentage.

The neuroscience major also made the All-MIAA First Team.
