Around the MIAA

Adrian

Adrian closed its fall semester with an eighth-place finish (365+362=727) at the MIAA Fall Championships. Junior Hailey Scott paced Adrian with an 83+85=168 for a 12th-place tie out of 57 overall. Senior Brooke Symons (98+85=183, T-36th), sophomores Audrey Jutis (90+95=185, T-40th), Alexis Weston (94+99=193, T-48th) and Lauren Yankee (98+97=195, 52nd) rounded out the lineup. In addition, freshman Hannah Mason competed as an individual with a 98+96=194 for tied-50th. Scott earned a spot on the All-MIAA Second Team; Scott had three top-10 finishes and led the team with an 82.9 scoring average overall.


Albion

Kiley Flynn matched her collegiate low with an 85 in the first round of the fall finale. Flynn also scored 85 in the MIAA Jamboree at Trine. Grace Hoffman turned in Albion’s low average for the fall season (86-stroke average in six MIAA rounds).


Alma

The Scots finished its fall season on Saturday (Oct. 12) finishing sixth as a team at the MIAA Fall Final from the Bedford Valley Golf Club. Alma finished with a team score of 706. Individually, the Scots were led by freshman Morgan Yates (Shepherd, Mich.) with a two-round score of 169, and finishing tied for 14th place.


Calvin

Calvin finished fifth in the MIAA standings. Emma Dykhouse garnered first-team All-MIAA honors after averaging 82.3 strokes per MIAA rounds.


Hope

Hope finished second in the MIAA standings. Jordyn Rioux, Abby Meder, and Megan Jenkinson all received second-team All-MIAA accolades.


Kalamazoo

Kalamazoo placed ninth at the MIAA Fall Final over the weekend. Darby Scott led the Hornets by shooting a 78 in the first round and following that with a 77 in the final round to finish third overall at the tournament. Her cumulative conference scores qualified her for All-MIAA First Team honors after earning Second Team recognition last year. Scott is just the third player in program history to be named to the First Team and the first since 2000. Claire Middleton shot 105-96 to finish second for the Hornets at the tournament. Amanda Dow (111-106) and Katherine Stewart (112-106) finished third and fourth.


Olivet

Olivet finished fourth at the MIAA Fall Final to finish third overall in the final MIAA standings. Senior Nicole Deweyert earned First Team All-MIAA honors. Deweyert is now a four-time All-MIAA selection, earning First Team honors in 2017 and 2019, and Second Team honors in 2016 and 2018.


RV Saint Mary's

The Belles closed out the fall season with their third consecutive MIAA Championship after shooting rounds of 307 and 324 at Bedford Valley Golf Club in the MIAA Fall Final. Hunter Kehoe set a conference record with a 149 at the MIAA Fall Final as the junior earned her second consecutive MIAA Most Valuable Golfer honor. Kehoe also set a new conference standard for scoring average in a season as the had a 75.67 average score over the six 18-hole rounds of the year. Summer Stillson (75-78) and Sydney Hruskoci (82-82) joined Kehoe as First Team All-MIAA honorees for the 2019 season. Hannah Finley rounded out the team scores both days with a 79 in round one and an 86 in round two to place sixth overall.


Trine

Finished third at the MIAA Fall Final...will earn one of four spots in the 2020 MIAA Spring Qualifier...Lyndsey Welper and Jenna Doumont earned second-team All-MIAA honors becoming the first Trine players to earn All-Conference since the 2016-17 season.
