All-MIAA - Women's Basketball - 2023

HUDSONVILLE, Mich. -- Following the conclusion of the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) women's basketball regular season, the nine head coaches voted on All-MIAA awards.

Trine University sophomore guard Sidney Wagner was selected the 2023 MIAA Most Valuable Player after assisting the Thunder to a share of the MIAA regular-season title with a 14-2 record.  In starting all 16 conference contests, Wagner finished the 2023 campaign as the league leader with 272 points and 17.0 points per game.  She is also ranked in the top five with 107 field goals, a .566 field-goal percentage, a .431 three-point field-goal percentage, and 35 steals.  Wagner earned MIAA Women's Basketball Player of the Week on December 19 and was named United States Basketball Writers Association (USBWA) Division III National Player of the Week the following day.

Hope College senior guard Meg Morehouse was voted the 2023 MIAA Defensive Player of the Year after assisting the Flying Dutch to the MIAA Co-Championship title and a 14-2 league record.  Morehouse wrapped up the season with 46 assists and 52 defensive rebounds in starting all 16 conference contests.

Wagner headlines a First Team that includes five-time All-MIAA honoree Gabby Timmer of Calvin, along with four other first-time recipients.

The All-MIAA Second Team features three-time all-conference players Taylor Sas of Alma and Elena Welker of Albion.  Briton Lolo Reed and Calvin's Leah Harris both earned a spot on the All-MIAA list for the second time in their careers.
