SHEPHERD, Mich. -- The Calvin University men's cross country squad won the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Men's Cross Country Championship for its 35th-consecutive season with a final score of 27.
Hope College sophomore Connor Vachon earned the title of the 2022 Most Valuable Runner following his first-place finish with an 8K time of 24:21.2. This is Vachon's second-straight season earning a spot on the All-MIAA First Team.
Calvin junior Brandan Knepper became a three-time All-MIAA honoree after clocking in at 24:27.8 for second place. Teammate Eric Swinson claimed third place (24:50.1), followed by Hope senior Anders Bogard in fourth place (24:52.3) and Calvin sophomore Nick Henz in fifth (24:59.8). All three earned their second All-MIAA accolade this year.
Hope finished the 8K in second place with a score of 31, followed by Trine University in third place with a score of 75. Adrian College and Olivet College round out the top five teams with scores of 132 and 148, respectively.
