Trine University's Josh Fletcher Named 2024 MIAA Men's Outdoor Track and Field Coach of the Year

HUDSONVILLE, Mich. -- The Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) proudly announces Trine University's Josh Fletcher as the 2024 Men's Outdoor Track and Field Coach of the Year.

This prestigious accolade is decided by coaches based on their colleagues' achievements during regular and post-season competitions.

Fletcher was selected as the 2024 Men's Outdoor Track and Field Coach of the Year after leading the Thunder to their fourth MIAA Outdoor Track and Field Championship title in program history.

"I'm very blessed to have incredible athletes and coaches to work with," commented Fletcher.  "Our men's outdoor season started off a little rough, but our men continued to overcome adversity and showed up big at the Field Day Championships, I'm very proud of them.  Seniors Jake Gladieux, Greysen Spohn and Kimball Hughes had not only a great senior year, but a great career at Trine University, they will be greatly missed.  I want to thank all of our alumni and parents for their support during the season."

Under the leadership of Fletcher, Senior Jake Gladieux was voted the 2024 MIAA Most Valuable Men's Track Athlete, along with two first-place finishes at the MIAA Outdoor Championship in the 110m hurdles and 400m hurdles. Fletcher led the men's team to a total of 185 points at the 2024 MIAA Outdoor Championship with top-three finishes in the 4 x 100m relay, 1500m, 800m, 4 x 400m relay, hammer throw, shot put, triple jump, high jump, pole vault, and swept the top three spots in the 110m hurdles.

Fletcher is in his sixth year at the helm of both the indoor and outdoor track and field programs.  He was previously named the 2024 MIAA Men's Indoor Track and Field Coach of the Year.
