BOULDER CITY, Nev. -- The Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) is proud to announce that Hope College's Liam Casey and Trine University's Mark Civanich have been selected to the 2024 NCAA Division III PING All-Region V Team as announced by the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA) on May 16.

Sophomore Liam Casey, a standout player for the Flying Dutchmen, was named the 2023-24 MIAA Most Valuable Golfer after concluding regular-season play with a season-best average of 74.5.  He also averaged a league-low 74.5 over two rounds at the 2024 NCAA Championships.  Casey's selection to the All-Region team is a testament to his hard work, strategic play, and outstanding sportsmanship.  His impressive season included multiple top finishes and a pivotal role in leading Hope College to several victories, including the 2023-24 MIAA Championship.

Senior Mark Civanich of Trine University has also shown remarkable talent and determination. As a key player for the Thunder, Civanich's exceptional play has been instrumental in the team's success this season.  His selection to the All-Region team recognizes his significant contributions, including consistently low scores and a strong presence in major tournaments.  Civanich's dedication to honing his skills and his competitive spirit have distinguished him as one of the top golfers in the region.  He became a four-time All-MIAA honoree this season after finishing as the runner-up in conference competition with an average of 74.67.

The NCAA Division III PING All-Region Teams are selected by the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA) and recognize the top collegiate golfers across the country.  Being named to the All-Region team is a significant achievement, reflecting the athletes' hard work, perseverance, and excellence in the sport.
