
Three men's basketball players from the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) received All-Region 7 accolades from D3hoops.com, including Hope College's Evan Thomas who was selected to the First Team.
Thomas, a junior guard for the Flying Dutchmen, was voted the 2022 MIAA Most Valuable Player after leading Hope to both the regular-season title and the MIAA Tournament championship. Following competition in the NCAA Tournament, Thomas concluded the season as the conference leader in minutes per game (33.6), free throws (170), defensive rebounds (203), total boards (251), rebounds per contest (9.0), points per game (19.6), and points per 40 minutes.
Hope junior guard Clayton Dykhouse received Second Team All-Region honors. Dykhouse was named to the All-MIAA First Team after assisting the Flying Dutchmen to a successful season. He concluded the 2021-22 campaign top five in the conference with 32.3 minutes per game, a .427 three-point field-goal percentage, 94 free throws, an .870 free-throw percentage, 88 assists, and 45 steals.
Calvin University senior Luke Morrison was selected to the All-Region Second Team. Morrison earned First Team All-MIAA honors after leading the Knights, not only to an overall record of 22-9, but to the NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament's Sweet 16. He concluded the season as the league leader in minutes (1,005), field goals (198), three-point field goals (84), and points (587).
