The Hope men's basketball team (19-10) went 1-1 during the 2018 NCAA Division III Men's Basketball Championship, advancing to the Second Round after an opening round 93-91 victory over Augsburg March 2. In the neutral-court win, Hope was led by Riley Lewis' 23 points off the bench, while Preston Granger tallied a career-best 21 points.
In the Second Round, Hope could not slow down Augustana (24-5), falling to the host team 95-83 despite out-scoring Augustana 46-28 in the paint. Jason Beckman led the Flying Dutchmen in scoring (24), rebounds (10) and assists (3) in the setback.
