
KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) announced this week honorees for both its Team Acedemic Excellence Awards and Honors Court.
Earning team honors were Alma College, Calvin College, Hope College, and Trine University. Individually, Albion's Jared Larr, Corey Wheeler, and Jason Zahran; Alma's Chase Fairchild, Brooks Hyble, Nick LoMonaco, and Kevin Scheibert; Calvin's Michael Wilks, Carlos Amoros, Michael Welch, Nate Drews, and Nate Meppelink; Hope's Harrison Blackledge, Cody Stuive, Zack Littleson, Chad Carlson, and Luke Dreyer; and Trine's Will Dixon, Luke Wenger, and Adam Ciszewski were recognized for their academic achievement.
Teams must achieve a team GPA of 3.0 or better during the 2016-17 season to be honored; for individual honors, student-athletes must have a cumulative GPA of 3.2 or higher at the conclusion of the 2016-17 academic year and either a junior or senior academically.
