Adrian College's Craig Rainey Deemed 2024 MIAA Baseball Coach of the Year

HUDSONVILLE, Mich. -- The Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) proudly announces Adrian College's Craig Rainey as the 2024 Baseball Coach of the Year.

This prestigious accolade is a coaches vote based on the achievements of their colleagues both during regular- and post-season competition.

Rainey was selected as the 2024 Baseball Coach of the Year after leading the Bulldogs to a second-place finish in conference play and to the 2024 MIAA Baseball Tournament crown.  Adrian is currently in the midst of the NCAA Tournament in which the squad has claimed the regional title.  The Bulldogs will compete in the Super Regionals, May 24-25, against Randolph-Macon in Ashland, Virginia.

"The Adrian College Baseball 2024 season has been special," commented Rainey.  "We have experienced an MIAA Tournament Championship, an NCAA Regional Championship, a Super Regional Appearance and 30+ wins.  Years like this are a result of all the hard work our players and assistant coaches have put in.  I am humbled by this honor.  All the credit goes to our players that get it done on the field."

Under the leadership of Rainey, six players were selected to 2024 All-MIAA Teams including three-time All-MIAA first baseman AJ Miranda, two-time All-MIAA pitcher Jakob Charles, two-time All-MIAA outfielder Joe Casale, and first-time honorees Nic Bruder, David Kedrow, and Jack Bolke.

Since taking over the program in 1994, the Adrian alum ('89) and current Athletic Director has led the Bulldogs to a 504-198 conference record.  Additionally, Rainey has coached 164 All-MIAA selections, 35 D3baseball.com All-Region selections (through 2023), 57 ABCA All-Region honorees (through 2023), thirteen All-Americans (through 2023), fifteen MIAA Players of the Year, and eleven MIAA Pitchers of the Year.
