Freshman first baseman Tyra Marcum (Goshen, Ind. / Goshen) assisted the Thunder to the 2024 MIAA Softball Tournament title with a 1-0 shutout versus Adrian, a 17-1 victory over Calvin, and a 4-3 edge over the Knights.  In nine at bats, Marcum totaled four hits, three runs, two home runs, five runs batted in, one double, and 11 total bases while slashing a .444/.500/1.222.  Marcum also went 14-of-14 in putouts.  Overall, the newcomer leads the league with 51 RBIs and is second in the conference with 20 home runs, 87 total bases, a .462 batting average, an on-base percentage of .548, and an .821 slugging percentage.
