Junior defender Julia Ames (Lake Orion, Mich./ Lake Orion) played a pivotal role in the Britons' double victory week, securing wins over Kalamazoo (18-8) and Adrian (8-7). Ames' outstanding defensive performance was recognized as she held the MIAA's leading scorer, Ella Spponer of Kalamazoo, to limited points. Her face guard on Tessa Fuller, second in the MIAA in assists, was exceptional, keeping her scoreless with no assists. In the game against Adrian, Ames limited one of their top three players to only one assist. She finished the week with a total of six groundballs, one draw control, and two caused turnovers.
