Junior linebacker Austin Berkompas (Charlotte, Mich. / Charlotte) assisted the Comets to a 35-32 season-opening victory at Franklin in his first career start on Saturday. Berkompas totaled nine solo tackles and three assists, including one tackle for loss. He also had two interceptions in the second half that were pivotal for the Olivet win.
