Junior Maddy Struck (Hainesville, Ill. / Grayslake Central) opened the 2023 cross country campaign with a time of 21:54 to cover the Wheaton College Gil Dodds Invitational 6K course.  Struck's 52-second career PR time helped lead the Flying Dutch to a third-place finish against two top-ten teams in a field of nineteen teams.
