HUDSONVILLE, Mich. -- In the fall update of the 2022-23 Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Commissioner's Cup race, Hope takes the early lead thanks to top-three finishes in all eight fall sports.

The fall update is an unofficial look at the MIAA Commissioner's Cup standings.  The award is based on the cumulative performance of each member school in the league's 23 sports: 11 in women's sports and 12 in men's sports.  Each school counts its top eight finishes by gender.  The fall update includes each team's MIAA finish in four men's and four women's sports.

The Flying Dutch earned MIAA Championships in both men's golf and women's cross country.  Hope was the regular-season runner-up in men's cross country, men's soccer, and volleyball on the way to garnering 62 points through eight fall sports.

Calvin is currently second in the running with 55 points thanks to MIAA titles in men's cross country, men's soccer, volleyball, and women's soccer.  Trine claimed the third spot (52 points) after the fall season with top-three finishes in men's cross country, men's golf, football, men's soccer, women's cross country, and women's soccer.

In the race for fourth place, Adrian (45 points) leads Albion (41 points) with help from the women's golf championship title, along with top-three finishes in both men's golf and football.  Albion earned a spot in the top three for both men's soccer and volleyball.

Kalamazoo (32 points) edged Alma (31 points) for sixth place following the fall season.  Olivet (22 points) and Saint Mary's (15 points from four women's fall sports) round out the nine institutions.
