Freshman Sara Schermerhorn (Traverse City, Mich. / Traverse City West) had record-breaking performances at the MIAA Women's Indoor Track and Field Championships on Saturday. Schermerhorn earned her first MIAA Championship title in record-breaking fashion with a time of 7.82 in the 60m dash. The previous record of 7.87 was set by Albion's Avery Campbell last year. She broke her second record of the day in the 200m dash (25.55). The previous record of 25.69 was set in 2018 by Albion's Layla Wilks. Schermerhorn also competed in the winning 4x400m relay (4:04.84) alongside Julie Timperman, Erin Moran, and Grace Behrens.
