Adrian
The Adrian College women's cross country team competed at the Wolverine Twilight race hosted by the University of Michigan-Dearborn in New Boston, Mich. on Friday, Aug. 31. The women's team, comprised of all freshmen, ran to a third place finish with a score of 96. Corrisa Hamilton finished in 10th place with a time of 20:02.9.
Albion
Darby Kellogg made an impressive Albion College debut Saturday, finishing as the second runner to cross the finish line as the women's cross country team opened the season in the Sodexo Grizzly Invitational Sept. 1. Kellogg completed the 6K course in 22:57.
Alma
The Alma College women's cross country team began its season with a fourth-place finish at the Jeff Drenth Invitational Aug. 31. The women finished behind Michigan State, Central Michigan and Hillsdale. Junior Mallory Munderloh (St. Louis, Mich. / St. Louis) led the women (20:55.21).
Calvin
The Calvin women's cross country team is preparing to open its 2018 campaign. The Knights are ranked fifth in the United States Cross Country Coaches Association Division III Great Lakes Regional poll and are receiving votes in the USTFCCCA Division III Top 25 poll. Calvin will host its own Knight Invite this Saturday at the Gainey Athletic Complex. The women's 5k will start at 10 a.m.
Hope
The Hope College women’s cross country team will begin their 2018 campaign Saturday, Sept. 15, after inclement conditions cancelled the Vanderbilt Invitational Sept. 1.
Kalamazoo
The Kalamazoo College women's cross country team will toe the line for their 2018 season opener at Calvin's Knight Invite Sept. 8.
Olivet
The Olivet College women's cross country team hosted three in-state junior colleges -- Jackson, Kellogg and Lansing -- for the 2018 Comet Opener Aug. 31 at Broadway Acres Golf Course in Charlotte. The first Olivet runner to cross the finish line was freshman Anselma Barnett who was eighth of 25 runners in the 5K event with a time of 22:06.84.
Saint Mary's
The Belles opened up 2018 with an eighth place finish at the Franklin Grizzly Invitational last Saturday. Katie Glenn was the first Belle across the finish line as the junior placed 20th overall with a time of 25:57.9 in the 6k event.
Trine
The Trine University women's cross country team placed six individuals inside the top-10, including the top-two overall times, en route to claiming the Wittenberg (Ohio) University Invitational in Springfield, Ohio, Aug. 31. Trine ended the event with 23 points to claim top honors among five schools. Evonne Bultemeyer (Fort Wayne, Ind./Homestead) led the Thunder individually with the top overall time in the field of 42 competitors of 19:28.5.
