Around the MIAA

Adrian

The Adrian College women’s cross country team ran at the Mike Woods Open last week in Mt. Morris, N.Y. The all-freshman team finished in 13th place. Amy Adams led the Bulldogs with a time of 24:28.7 in 43rd place and Corrisa Hamilton finished in 99th with a time of 25:38.1.


Albion

Entered in a field against Division I talent from Missouri, Nebraska, Ohio State and Texas A&M, as well as some of the best from Division III, Albion College held its own in the Loyola Lakefront Invitational. The gap between Albion's five scoring runners was 1:44. Leaha Sinnaeve (19:42) led the way, followed by Jordan Revenaugh (20:04), Hannah Adams (20:41), Kendra Cook (21:09) and Natalie Purcell (21:26).


Alma

Did not compete.


No. 12 Calvin

Calvin moved up to No. 12 in the USTFCCCA Division III Top 35 rankings. The Knights then placed 11th at the Notre Dame Joe Piane Invite on Friday with a team score of 278 points in a field of 19 teams. Calvin was the only Division III school in the Gold Division race. Senior Katie Diekema led the Knights individually by finishing in eighth place in the 5K race.


No. 9 Hope

The Hope College women's cross country team displayed why it is considered one of the best in NCAA Division III during the Louisville Cross country Classic on Saturday. The Flying Dutch, ranked ninth, finished second in two different divisions at Sawyer State Park in Louisville, Kentucky. Senior Emily Hamilton placed eighth and led Hope with a time of 18:09.3 in the Blue Division.


Kalamazoo

The Kalamazoo College women's cross country team finished 15th in the Silver Division of the Louisville Classic this past Saturday. Lauren Arquette finished ninth overall with a time of 19:16 in the 5K event. Hannah Hamilton finished 125th with a time of 21:17. Rachel Cornell ran in 22:18 to come in 196th. Kalamazoo returns to action next Friday, Oct. 5 at the Lansing Invitational.


Olivet

Did not compete. Olivet runs at the Lansing Community College Invitational this Friday.


Saint Mary's

Did not compete.
