• Adrian, Alma, Olivet, Saint Mary's and Trine ran at the Oberlin Inter-Regional Rumble Oct. 14. Trine and Alma both scored 298 points for ninth and 10th, with the Thunder taking the tiebreaker with better finishes from their 1-2-3 runners. Trine's Evonne Bultemeyer (Fr., Fort Wayne, Ind.) was the first MIAA finisher with a time of 22:46.9 to place 12th overall.

Adrian finished 20th, while Saint Mary's placed 24th overall. Olivet took 28th place.

• Albion, Calvin, and Kalamazoo ran at the 36-team Principia Cowbell Classic Oct. 14 in a preview of the 2017 NCAA Championships course. Calvin took 16th place while Albion combined for 23rd place and Kalamazoo finished 28th.

• Hope took first place at the Muskegon CC Invite Oct. 13, scoring 39 points as a team. Emily Hamilton (Jr., Naperville, Ill.) was fourth among college competitors with a time of 18:38.8.

• Earning MIAA Athlete of the Week honors for Oct. 16 was:

  - Evonne Bultemeyer, Trine

• In the Oct. 17 release of the USTFCCCA regional rankings, Hope moved to second place in the region, while Calvin came in at fifth.
